Talented, intelligent and beautiful, Alicia Keys has it all. This singer-songwriter astounded millions with her multiple nominations and wins during the Grammy’s. Her style captured a lot of fans and artists alike, with her smooth grooves and cool voice. What gave this beauty her name also had a lot to do with her image. The corn-rowed brunette had hairstyles that were also a hit, wherever she performed.
Alicia Keys was born in Hell’s Kitchen in the great state of New York. The biracial beauty began singing at the age of five and started playing piano at seven. She catered all forms of music from classical to rap. The preferences of genre soon influenced her to make her own style and wrote her first song at 14. She was valedictorian of her class and accepted a shot at Columbia University’s Performing Arts. Her studies fell over when a record deal with Columbia records was offered. She left Columbia for Arista in 1998, the company was responsible for her hit single “Fallin’.” Her record breaking sales landed her a feature appearance in the “Oprah Winfrey Show” and the rest is history.
Alicia’s music defined her roots and tastes. And her style and image couldn’t be tastier. She wore corn rows that were so evenly braided and shone like ebony in the light. Corn Rows require a lot of hours and patience to make. As a songwriter, this wasn’t a problem for Alicia. What was interesting about Alicia’s corns were not the intricate rows, but the direction to where they ended. Her rows exuded a sexy, divine style, that made famous hoop star Iverson’s rows look like baby braids. Natural long kinky hair is perfect for this do.
Her chocolate colored hair wasn’t corn-struck after all. She surprised everybody during the Fresh Air Fund’s Spring Gala, when she let loose of those rows to make way for a full-bodied do that complimented her white bustier. Her long hair was cut just below her shoulders, while the extra curled locks were layered on to the ends. This created a huge amount of texture that was perfect after long years of stretching. This hairstyle is perfect for full and medium hair.
Alicia had a gorgeous neckline, and she knows that. That’s why whenever she let’s go of those rows and go loose, she makes sure that the back and sides are layered to show the neck area. Alicia also went straight during the Grammy’s and you can see the beauty that was already there. Her straight hair made her look thin and gave out a slick and smooth effect, together with the highlights. This hair is perfect for the straight and medium hair.
Whether braided or loosed, our diva won our hearts with her hypnotic tunes. The soul of her music tells us the story of her life. The cool jive of her melody is perfect on those road trips or just laying back after a hard day’s work. Alicia is a work of art worth looking at and heard, altogether.
