Lauren Hutton (born November 17, 1943, in Charleston, South Carolina) is an American former supermodel and occasional actress. She is best known for her starring roles in the movies American Gigolo and Once Bitten, and also for her fashion modeling career. As an actress, Hutton made her film debut in the Paper Lion (1968), and she won interesting notices for her performances in James Toback's The Gambler (1974), opposite James Caan. She played the wealthy adventurous adulteress in the American Gigolo (1980). Important roles in major films were relatively few, however, and her acting career slowly diminished during the 1980s, with most of her appearances being in minor European features or American films that fizzled at the box office, such as Lassiter (1985), Once Bitten (1985), and Guilty as Charged (1992). Hutton's modeling career blossomed anew in the 1990s with a highly successful return, and then more acting offers following suit. Considerable media coverage as she approached the age of 50 highlighted her still exceptional, unashamedly middle-aged beauty, her love of world travel and anthropology, and her mature, mellow attitude towards the trappings of fame. Huttons's travels took her often to Africa, where she enjoyed the beauty of that continent as well as its people.
Lauren Hutton is not only over forty; she is over sixty and looks great!
She wisely stays away from over done 'do's' and wears her hair in natural unfussy styles. She is careful to keep her hair color youthful. This becomes more of a chore for most of us as we age but is well worth the effort. Ms Hutton wears a warm medium blond hair color with light blonde highlights. If you are in the 'over forty' group, chances are, even if your hair hasn't started to gray, it has lost the warmth and vitality of more youthful hair. So all over hair color is your best bet.
This hair color can be achieved by using a tint to create the medium blond shade. Use beige blonde or extra light brown and be careful to stay away from overly golden shades. When the base color is in place, tiny highlights are added in a light blonde shade. These can be added by using a weaving technique or a cap, but the highlights should be tiny strands of hair. And you can achieve Hutton’s style by cutting all the hair right at the hairline at the nape. On the sides, either cut all the hair right at the chin or angle the sides down to just below the chin. The longer sides are more flattering to someone who has a full face. Next, layer from the nape section up to about ear level, so that it has a stacked effect. The sides are also layered from the bottom up to about the same level of just below the cheek bones. Be careful in layering the sides as they are often thinner than the back.
Lastly, texture all around to take out any appearance of a line or ledge in the style. The effect you want is to have long tendrils lying close to your head with the fullness of the style being about four to five inches up from the bottom. Apply a light gel to the entire style. You can use LC Legacy Styling Glaze as it is the correct texture for this style. Put about a quarter-sized dollop in the palm of your hand and rub your hands together to distribute it. Then run your hands throughout your hair. Allow it to dry naturally or use a diffuser to dry your hair while you scrunch in the desired amount of wave. When the hair is almost dry, you can use some Styling Foam or mousse to scrunch into the ends for more body and definition. Finish this style with some spray shine to give it a healthy gloss. Use just enough hairspray to keep your hair back out of your face and to calm any fly-away.
One of the other looks Lauren has been spotted with is the wavy glamour look which is a messy and funky style where the length has been jagged cut at shoulders. This style is suitable for oval, oblong, square, heart, triangular face shapes. It requires high maintenance and 30+mins of styling. Your hair texture should be thick or medium. This hairstyle can be styled with the help of scrunch, mousse, wax, hair spray & moisturizer.
